Things to do locally

Local activities

Boat Hire, Sailaway is a St Anthony based boat hire company. It is just across the creek, which you can cross (carefully) at very low tide using some stepping stones, or you can walk or drive around the creek, which is about a 2 mile journey. They have paddle boards, dingies and canoes etc. for hire.

There are also plenty of walks from the house, including easy access to the coast path. Local walks can be found on OS Map 103, which covers the Lizard.

Beaches

1. Coverack is an easily accessible, sandy beach at low tide. It is located on the eastern peninsular, approximately 6 miles from the house. The beach is well served with local amenities, such as a fish & chip shop and local pub which serves food all day. There is parking close by in a designated pay and display car park.

2. Kennack sands is a long sandy beach which offers a good surf in the right conditions. It has a pay & display carpark and an onsite café and surf school, located approximately 9 miles from the house.

3. Lizard Point, the most southerly point in the UK is 15 miles from the house and boasts an impressive light house.

4. Kynance Cove, perhaps the most famous beach on the Lizard, is a popular beach managed by the National Trust. The dramatic and unique serpentine cliffs and crystal blue waters are picturesque, but beware, the car park gets full quickly and the beach can get very busy.

5. Poldhu is another great surfing beach located on the lizard. As well as a consistent surf, the beach has golden sand and is surrounded by dramatic cliffs. There is paid parking behind the beach, which is 11 miles from the house.

6. Mullion Cove is a traditional fishing village with crystal blue waters, dramatic cliffs and harbour. There is an excellent café, although parking is limited and a 5 minute walk from the harbour.
